I nspired by the desert landscape, Shoshana has responded to her surroundings in sculptural forms. The bowls, created in plaster and watercolor, reflect the texture of the desert and are a response to the traditional incantation bowls once used in the regions of today's Iran and Iraq. This series of ten incantation bowls offer prayers inspired by the land.
The labyrinth, a motif that appears in Judaism, Islam and Christianity, was built by four women over a period of four days in honor of the new moon of Sivan (May/June). It is 40 meters by 40 meters in size. Three years later, it can still be found in the desert where it was created and is used as a walking meditation and prayer space for individuals who are inspired by its beauty.
